The periodic table is divided into 7 rows and 18 columns. The elements are categorized in 4 blocks namely s-block elements, p-block elements, d-block elements and f-block elements. This classification is based on the electronic configuration.

The newly discovered element is very unstable that means it will try to be stable by emitting radiation. So this elements has to be radioactive.

On the periodic table, radioactive elements are represented by "f-block elements"

We can find "f-block elements" in 2 periods.

In 6th period these elements are called as "Lanthanides"

And in 7th period these elements are known as "Actinides"

All actinides are radioactive. They are also extremely reactive.

Since the elements we have is also radioactive, therefore it should be placed in 7th period
