    Answer : The solution must be isotonic in nature.

    Explanation : When any cell is dipped in an electrolytic solution there is supposed to gain or lose electrons; so the only condition where the net loses will be zero is when the isotonic solution is used or the cell is dipped in it.

    An isotonic solution is one which has same osmotic pressure with a semipermeable membrane in it.
