    Yes, I consider the U. S. - Mexican War was inevitable.

    Explanation:

    The Americans always wanted to move towards the Pacific due to their rich resources present in California as well as New Mexico. But there was always dispute related to Texan border. According to the American the border was present in Rio Grande River but on the other hand the Mexican said that the border was present in Rio Nueces River. The population in the Northern Mexican part was scarce in nature. The US said they will pardon national debt of Mexico if they are allowed to settle in the Texas border but it became non - negotiable.
