Explanation:
To calculate moles
No of moles = mass given / molar mass
Molar mass of C2H60
C which is carbon is 12
H which is hydrogen is 1
O which is oxygen is 16
Looking at the element, we have 2c, 6h and 1 oxygen
Molar mass = 2 (12) + 6 (1) + 16
Molar mass = 24+6+16
Molar mass = 46g/m
So we have
No of moles = mass given/molar mass
Here we are looking for the mass, so
Mass = molar mass * no of moles
No of moles given is 4moles
Molar mass calculated is 46g/mole
Substitute the values
Mass = 4moles * 46g/moles
Mass = 184g
Mass of C2H60 = 184g
