    Calcium=40.0%

    Carbon = 12.0%

    Oxygen = 48.0%

    Explanation:

    The mass per mole of calcium is approximately 100.09g/mole.

    calcium has an atomic mass of 40.08

    carbon has an atomic mass of 12.01

    Oxygen has a mass of 15.999

    Thereof the 100.09g of calcium carbonate, calcium contributes 40.08g, carbon 12 and oxygen 16*3=48

    Thus the percentages are calculated as follows.

    Calcium (40.08/100.09) * 100%=40.0%

    Carbon (12.01/100.09) * 100%=12.0%

    oxygen (15.999/100.09) * 100%=48.0%
