What type of chemical bond forms between positive and negative ions?

    An ionic bond is formed between positive and negative ions. This happens at high electronegativity while at low electronegativity a covalent bond is formed. In ionic bonds an element accepts the electron of the element with which it is bonding with while in a covalent bond sharing of electron takes place.
