For every one ring he uses 2 sapphires. The jeweler has with him 12 sapphires and 10 rings, we have to find how many sapphire rings he can make with it.

    There are 12 sapphires

so if 2 sapphires make 1 ring

    then 12 sapphires make - - 1/2 x 12 = 6 rings

therefore altogether he can make 6 sapphire rings

    answer is B.
