A student stated, there are 5 molecules of glucose (C6H12O6). A total of 30 atoms of carbon, 60 molecules of hydrogen, and 50 elements of oxygen. Did the student correctly analyze the five molecules of glucose? Critique the student's statement by correcting and justifying the incorrect statement.

    Explanation:

    Each molecule of glucose contains 6 atoms of Carbon, 12 atoms of hydrogen and 6 atoms of oxygen. A molecule is made by two or more atoms and an element is matter made by the same kind of atoms.

    5 molecules of glucose contains:

    5*6 Carbon = 30 atoms of carbon. The analysis of carbon made by student is right.

    5*12 Hydrogen = 60 atoms of hydrogen. There are 60 atoms of hydrogen, not 60 molecules

    5*6 Oxygen = 30 atoms of oxygen. Element is a kind of atom, oxygen is an unique element. And there is no 50 atoms, there are 30.
