Activation energy is simply defined as the energy barrier that must be overcome for chemical reaction to take place. The lower the activation energy, the faster a reaction proceeds and vice versa.

A speed bump is a raided ridge on the road used to slow down the motion of a moving vehicle.

We can see that both activation energy and bump tends to slow down the rate of motion.

Therefore, the lower a bump, the faster a car will move. The lower the activation energy, the faster a chemical reaction will proceed.

Roads without bumps provides free movement and also, reactions without activation energy will proceed much faster.
