Suppose a chemistry student took the mass of a sample of clacium carbonate and obtain the following values 1.00 g. Was the measurement accurate or precise? Explain.

    Though 1.00 grams rounds to 1 gram, this is a precise measurement.

    The zeroes after the decimal are significant digits, telling us that this measurement is accurate to the nearest hundreth. (1.01 and 0.99 would be just as precise)
