Explain how a global dependence on fossil fuels can lead to international security risks.

The use of fossil fuels has had an impact on our world already, whether we like it or not. The problems that arise with the use of fossil fuels has already had negative impacts on the world in social, economic, health and natural spheres. These problems include pollution, disproportionate wealth distribution, species extinction and other major health risks. Despite the fact that fossil fuels are slowly but surely running out, the Earth has seen enough destruction for us to realise that the continued use thereof will cause even greater potential risks. With global warming in the spotlight across the globe, species extinction on the rise and wealth distribution becoming more disparate, we need to start relying on renewable sources of energy, for the benefit of mankind and the Earth as a whole.
