Explain why you hear a "whoosh" sound when you open a can containing a carbonated drink. Which gas law applies?

    You hear a whoosh sound as you open a carbonated drink whatever the container is because carbon dioxide is escaping the solution. This happens because of the change in pressure as the container is opened to the atmosphere. To achieve equilibrium, the carbon would tend to go to the air than in solution.
