Which equation will you use to calculate the volume of a 5.00 liter sample of air at 50°C when it is warmed to 100°C at constant pressure?

    The equation that can be used to calculate the volume is the ideal gas equation. This is only valid for use for gases. It is expressed as:

    PV = nRT

    where P is the pressure, V is the volume, n is the amount in moles of the gas, R is the universal gas constant and T is the temperature.

    At constant pressure, the calculations are as follows:

    T1 / V1 = T2 / V2

    V2 = T2 x V1 / T1

    V2 = 373.15 x 5.0 / 323.15

    V2 = 5.77 L
