What is the difference between 5.0g and 5.00g?

    5.0g and 5.00g are different because they contain different numbers of significant figures. 5.0 grams means that the measurement or value is correct within + - 0.1g. On the other hand, 5.00 means that the value is correct within + - 0.01g
