The correct procedure for removing a reagent in a form of solid from its container is through the use of a spatula. It is to be noted that the size of the spatula that is to be used is dependent on the amount of the sample to be taken and the size of the container to where this reagent is taken from.

First, open the lid of the container and quickly take the amount from the container through the use of the spatula and place again the cover of the container ensuring that the contents are exposed as shortly as possible to other factors in the atmosphere or surrounding.
