The compound is composed of 69.9 % iron and 30.1% oxygen by mass.

Therefore it can be stated that in 100 g of the compound - 69.9 g of the compound is made of iron and 30.1g of compound is made of oxygen.

We are asked to calculate how much mass of iron can be obtained from 5.41 g of compound.

    100 g of compound - 69.9 g Fe

    In 5.41 g of compound - 69.9 / 100 * 5.41

= 3.78 g of Fe can be obtained
