Explain, in terms of atomic structure, why group 18 elements on the periodic table rarely form compounds

    There are no empty orbitals for them to gain, lose, or share electrons. The valence electron shell is full.

    Because in group 18 they don't have any incomplete atomic layer and orbital so they are stable. Because of that they rarely make compounds.; )
