What is a concentration cell and how does it work?

    A concentration cell is a limited form of a galvanic cell that has two equivalent half-cells of the same composition differing only in concentrations.

    A concentration cell acts to dilute the more concentrated solution and concentrate the more dilute solution, creating a voltage as the cell reaches an equilibrium.
