The pressure of 1 mol of gas is decreased to 0.5 atm at 273 K. What happens to the molar volume of the gas under these conditions?

    To solve this we assume that the gas is an ideal gas. Then, we can use the ideal gas equation which is expressed as PV = nRT. Molar volume is the V term in the equation. When the pressure is decreased, we can say that the volume will increase since they are inversely related.
