Is hydrogen bonding an actual type of bond?

    Im not sure this is the answer your looking for but;

    A hydrogen bond is the electromagnetic attraction between polar molecules in which hydrogen is bound to a larger atom, such as oxygen or nitrogen. This is not a sharing of electrons, as in a covalent bond. Instead, this is an attraction between the positive and negative poles of charged atoms.

    Hydrogen bonds can occur between molecules (intermolecular) or within different parts of a single molecule (intramolecular). This makes them somewhat stronger than a van der Waals interaction and weaker than covalent or ionic bonds.
