You have a balloon with a fixed amount of air in a sealed jar at room temperature. The balloon doesn't fill the entire jar. You place the jar in a pan of boiling water.

-describe what happens to the balloon inside the jar.

-explain what happens to the pressure, volume, and temperature of the gas inside the balloon.

-explain what happens to the air molecules inside the balloon?

    Due to increase in heat energy the air inside the balloon will have an increased kinetic energy. This means that the air pressure inside the balloon will rise causing the balloon in the jar to expand. The volume will also increase due to the increase of temperature because the matter is expanding.
