    Assuming that the division of the magnet was gentle in nature, so as to not disturb the alignment of the domains, the answer is B. each of the two segments of the original bar magnet will have a north and a south pole. This is due to the fact that a magnet is essentially filled with bundles of magnetic domains, each having its north pole facing towards the magnet's north pole and its south pole facing the magnet's south pole. Therefore, cutting gently will only expose the poles from the middle of the magnet.
