    Answer: B) The atomic orbitals overlap and share electrons to form covalent bonds.

    Methane is formed by one molecule of Carbon and four of Hydrogen, Carbon has four electrons in the last layer and the carbon is covalent and carbon does not want to lose its four electrons, but to gain four electrons to get eight in the last layer, With all four hydrogen arriving around the carbon and making a bond and stabilizing, because each Hydrogen needs only two electrons to stabilize.

    CH4 (methane) - non-metal with non-metal = Covalent Bond

    The atoms mutually capture electrons, resulting in an orbit common to both.

    Covalent Bond = Sharing the pair of electrons in common orbit.
