What is the difference between gage pressure and absolute pressure?

    Absolute pressure is the pressure measured from the void. Gage pressure is the pressure measured respect to the atmospheric pressure.

    Absolute pressure (as the name says) is an absolute reading, is the pressure measured from the void (considered the zero reference). Gage pressure is a relative reading, is the pressure measured respect to the atmospheric pressure (pressure minus atmospheric pressure).
