There are 7 types of residential circuits.

    Explanation:

Resendential Circuits means circuits used while wiring residential buildings. There are 6 different types of resedential wirings. Outlet Circuit, Lighting Circuit, Room Circuit, Special Circuit, 240 Volt Circuit, GFCI Circuit, and AFCI Circuit.

All the basic circuits of resedential building are connected with an outlet circuit, and this type of circuit have 15 - 20 amps of pole breaker. Lightening Circuit is only for the wiring of lights in the complete resedential building, so that if anything goes wrong in lights, we could inspect that much only.

Sometimes, even there is a separate circuit for Rooms, and in resedential building, each and every room have different circuit. There are many appliances which require very high wattage like furnaces, or refrigerator.

For them, special circuit is down and pole breaker is generally upto 30 apms. More heavy duty appliances are wired by 240 Volt Circuit, and GFCI and AFCI Circuits are for safety measures and to cutoff all the circuits if anything goes wrong.
