British English and American English have similarities but British English may write words differently from American English. Some words are pronounced differently here in Britain than they would in the USA. Also in British English you would say "flat" but in American, English people say "apartment" or here we say " holiday" and in American English, they tend to say " vacation ". Also in British English, you would write " colour " and in the other English you would write "color".
