The correct answer should be C. The ideas that philosophers expound are the most notable aspects of their lives.

We don't know whether he wanted a family or not so it's not A. Saying it is an impediment might be too harsh since it's not an impediment if he wants it to be so. It's not D because they often do not think alike.
