After the fall of the Commonwealth, the restoration was the term used for the restoring of the monarchy and the period of time where the new political settlement was established. The Restoration followed after the Wars of the Three Kingdoms, England, Ireland and Scotland. The War of the Three Kingdoms would be the events that came to be called the Restoration.
