Approximately can mean 'almost' or 'about'.
Therefore, an approximate rhyme is a word that sounds similar, but not exactly a rhyme, to another word.
For example, 'again and friend'.
Approximate rhymes may also not sound exactly alike, or similar, at all.
For example, 'bed and bead'.
