In Chicago was a lot of hot button issues Chicanos and African Americans votes were being noticed of course. People were paying attention to heroes like Martin Luther King, Bobby Kennedy after JFK died. The mob was still strong in the first ward, though Hanranan of the Red Squad in the Police dept got the go ahead to silence Fred Hampton and crew in a gun battle.
