    Mrs. Turner judges many people because of their skin complexion.

    It might be reasonable to infer that Mrs Turner takes her appearance with a lot of pride, even thought she has sharp and unappealing features. Every feature seems to differentiate her from the other coloured peers. So it could be said that she discriminates and feels she might be "above" them because of social hierarchy.
