Enlightenment (Emmanuel Kant) is man's emergence from his self-imposed, inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. It lies in decision. It requires nothing but freedom. Freedom to make use of one's own reason in all matters. "Have the courage to use your own understanding" motto of enlightenment.
