Read the excerpt below and answer the question. I had assumed that my talent-show fiasco meant that I would never have to play the piano again. But two days later, after school, my mother came out of the kitchen and saw me watching TV. "Four clock," she reminded me, as if it were any other day. In the excerpt above, what can be inferred from the statement, " ... as if it were any other day"? The narrator thinks her mother has lost track of time. The narrator hopes to become a prodigy by watching television daily. The mother wants her daughter to do her homework as soon as she returns from school. The mother continues to believe that her daughter can become a prodigy.
