Read the poem.

The Morns Are Meeker Than They Were

by Emily D.

The morns are meeker than they were-

The nuts are getting brown-

The berry's cheek is plumper-

The Rose is out of town.

The Maple wears a gayer scarf-

The field a scarlet gown-

Lest I should be old-fashioned

I'll put a trinket on.

Why does the poet uses the words scarf and gown in this poem?

to show that people often forget their clothing out of doors

to show how nature is a good place for a wedding

to show that nature looks beautiful in the spring < - my answer

to show how the tree and field have feminine qualities
