Simple sentences are sentences with one verb and are independent. Examples would be:
I made bread.
I cleaned the room.
He washed the dishes.
Compound sentences are sentences that consist of two or more simple sentences, and are connected using a conjunction such as "and", "or", or something similar. An example would be:
I made bread and cleaned the room.
