Which of these events in the plot of Silas Marner best represents the climax in the novel? Silas spends fifteen years in isolation, hoarding gold. Silas's gold is stolen by Dunstan Cass. Eppie appears in Silas's cottage and he decides to adopt her. Eppie's father, Godfrey, tries to adopt Eppie.
