    I believe that the only way in which poetry today resembles poetry from the 14th century is C) Poems are still often recited orally.

    A isn't correct because nowadays prose is valued more.

    B - poetic devices are often used.

    D - the meter has changed significantly.

    I believe the correct answer is D. poets generally use the same meter.

    A is incorrect because generally prose is valued over poetry today, whereas in the past, it was different. B is incorrect because poems are all about poetic devices which are used to evoke particular emotions. I don't think C is correct because we tend to read these poems to ourselves rather than recite them orally.

    This is why I picked D - the meter is pretty much the same as it was back then. There aren't many variations because the meter was determined much before the 14th century and it is still used even today, although slightly changed.
