Read the following scenario.

You are a food server at a neighborhood restaurant. You are in a meeting with the store manager, the owner, and two other food servers. The topic of discussion is the owner's plan for a special holiday menu. She has asked for your input on her ideas. You are concerned that the holiday menu will not appeal to vegetarians, a large segment of the restaurant's customers.

Which of the following would be the most respectful way to talk about your concerns?

I think more menu options are needed. Your proposed specials have too much meat.

Are you sure you want this menu?

I've noticed that a lot of our customers request vegetarian options. I'm wondering if this menu will appeal to them.

I think you should have more vegetarian items.

In my opinion, I think that the third option is best. "I’ve noticed that a lot of our customers request vegetarian options. I’m wondering if this menu will appeal to them."
