    An adjective modifies or describes a noun. For example: There is a green car. Green in the adjective in the sentence because it is describing the car in the way of how it looks. An adverb can be modifying a verb, or an adjective. It can describe a verb or to say to what extent. For example: She quickly walks her dog. Quickly is an adverb that is modifying a verb because it is saying how she walked her dog. Another example could be He is very tall. In the sentence, very is an adverb modifying the adjective, tall. Very is telling us how tall.
