3. Having too much pride is a common theme in Greek stories; the Greeks even have a word for it: hubris. For Achilles, his pride, or hubris, is his tragic flaw. It causes his downfall. Think about the events so far in the story. Why is Achilles' hubris causing his downfall?

    His hubris is causing his downfall because he is too confident, which ultimately led him to go to the walls of Troy and to his death, the arrow from Paris.

    Because he thinks hes able to take on anything and everything that comes at him and he thinks hes invincible and indestructible. so then he wouldnt pay as much attention around him
