Anthony was a brave and determined person.

    Explanation:

Susan B. Anthony was accused and convicted for voting in the Presidential election of 1872 in her hometown of Rochester, NY. This was because women were not allowed to participate in such a voting process that was considered to be the obligation of the men only.

In her 1873 speech given after her arrest, she addressed her situation and bring to light the events that led to her arrest. To her, she did not break any law nor did she hurt anybody. Rather, she reiterated that she "not only committed no crime but, instead, simply exercised my citizen's rights, guaranteed to me and all United States citizens by the National Constitution, beyond the power of any State to deny". This shows her defiance and strong-will in trying to bring forth the wrongs of the male-dominated society.
