I could think of ways, but only when could is replaced by should in the sentence ... this information could embarrass ...

Explanation:

I think that our power and water consumption in general doesn't cause embarrassment nor problems. Even if it is proved that we don't sleep till 5 AM. Maybe only when power providers find out what we are watching at 3 o'clock in the morning.

I use should instead of could but I realise that the time that people will get embarrassed or into trouble by using up water and electricity without the least consideration of the environment, is still pretty far away.
