Depending on what the state of matter it is, it can either melt, solidify (freeze), or evaporate.
Explanation:
If it is a solid, it can melt. (Sometimes solids can change immediately into a gas without having to change into a liquid first.) If it is a liquid, it can freeze or solidify into a solid and/or evaporate into a gas. And if it is a gas, it can condensate into a liquid.
