A Russian horse and an American horse are racing, they are the only two racing. The American horse wins and the Russian horse losses. The next day Russian news papers say "Russian horse gets second place, while American horse gets second to last"

If you just read the paper it sounds like the Russian horse won the race, but if you go more in depth then you learn that the american horse won.
