Mr. Wilson calls Reverend Dimmesdale to ask Hester the name of her child's father.

    Explanation:

In the story, 'The Scarlet Letter' by 'Nathaniel Hawthorne', in chapter 3, Hester does recognize one person who is strangely dressed as father of her child in the crowd.

Reverend Dimmesdale, who is a young minister and is known for his persuasiveness and dedication towards religion, is called by Mr. Wilson to ask Hester the name the father of her child. He urges her not to save him just out of pity or tenderness.

But, Hester refuses to name that man. Even after demands from Reverend Wilson which are quite stern and harsh, she doesn't name the father of her child. She said that her child would get a heavenly father. Then she is sent to the prison.
