The main idea when Hurston says that she feels "most colored" was that she feels "othered", she feels she was different from thousand white people, she said that her race or her dark color will not let her down.

    Explanation:

Zora Neale Hurtson was a negro in the United states. She was colored which means she had dark complexion. When she was thirteen she went to a school, she was discriminated on the basis of her color.

She was not affected by that discrimination, She remained in high spirits and said that she feels "most colored" which means that among thousand white persons she was like a dark rock which was rising and shining.

So the main idea was that she was not ashamed of her race or color. But she was proud. she said that she feels she is most colored when she stands with the white people.

She never fell discriminated and used that discrimination as a tool to make her more strong.
