Many people read for entertainment and they need to all be engaged.

If possible, yes. If not, then definitely no. Writing is about expressing yourself and talking about your own experience. Not everyone is able to relate to books but the few that do really need it. It's not to say that you shouldn't try, but I don't think it's something you should purposely go out of your way to achieve.
