    Answer with Explanation:

The visitor and his hosts were interconnected in fate. The visitor has no accomplishments so far but tries to travel in the hope that he'd be able to achieve his destiny. The hosts were modest and humble that they were happy enough even to stay in a dangerous location (a notch next to a mountain) as they would continue to entertain guests since it allowed them to economically thrive. The visitor traveling to the mountains on an awful night made him share the same fate with the hosts. They were given chances to escape but they didn't mind it, thus, resulting to their fate.

At the end of the story, they all died and their bodies were never found.

    Additional Information:

The "Ambitious Guest" is a short story written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The story talks about a visitor and the hosts in a house. It was inspired by the author's travel to New Hampshire.
