Both 'W. E. B Dubois' and 'Booker T. Washington' were blacks and they fought for the rights of African Americans. Though they had different phillosphies during the Civil rights movement.

Booker believed in economic independence for the blacks and said that they should receive education and then get equal rights. He was more passive thinking that all these things take time.

Dubois said that regardless of education, African Americans should first get their rights and he demanded things aggressively.
