The greatest challenges people might face in the circumstances of the Holocaust would be depression and hate.

Every German child since they could speak were told about how the Jews were evil and Germans and Jew have had an everlasting hate towards each other. The Germans "worked with the devil" They killed young christian boys and used the blood for their pass-over bread.

The reason why the challenges they are facing is depression and hate rather than death or any other answer is because you had no choice no matter what you thought you were breed into this idea that the Jews were horrible people and the Jews thought the same of German's.

The Nazis also known as the Jews had been treated like this for way to long and now had the largest or large desire to kill all of the Germans, creating the holocaust. And used the plan Hitler had made years before and started their structured plan.
